London, England
Our first real day abroad --
We started the morning with latte's in bed and planned our adventure for the day.
First stop, London Tower
One of us is particularly fascinated by castles and made sure not to miss this historic site. It was so well preserved! We enjoyed the blurbs on the well speaking to the treachery that happened on site (which stayed generally PG) and felt both mystic and eery.
Just outside the castle stood Tower Bridge, connecting both shores of the Thames River. The bridge was a spectacle. From there we took the train to Covent Gardens to grab a bite and a drink. We came across a street performer who, while balancing three platforms on top of a rolling cylnder, asked J to toss him three machetes that he simultaneously caught and juggled.
For our last tourist attraction of the day we journeyed through the British Museum. The Egyptian exhibit was the clear highlight where we saw the Rosetta Stone and mummies!
We ended the evening at Mallow, a brand new and trendy vegan spot. Food was delicious and the ambiance was right out of a new hit TV show. It was the perfect fancy ending to such a productive day.
