Sattel-Hochstuckli, Switzerland > Torno (Como), Italy
James and I woke up early to pack our stuff and hit the road before it got too hot. Unfortunately by the time we left at 10am, it was already hot and we prepared ourselves for the uphill trek to the gondola which would take us back down the mountain. I don’t think either of us have pushed ourselves or our body’s limits this trip as much as we did that morning. At least we could cross working out off our list of things to do that day (though James still squeezed in a four mile run later that day… ugh).

With a few minutes to spare, we conquered the Fussgängerhängebrücke, a hefty 374 meter long pedestrian suspension bridge, and spontaneously took the fastest and longest downhill slide (technically a “summer toboggan”) we’ve ever seen, because why not? We both got overly ambitious about how fast we could take our wheeled, sled type device down the slide and both almost fell off while turning the sharp corners on the way down. No regrets though. It was a freaking blast.
With no time to spare, we grabbed our stuff and hopped on the gondola down, hoping we’d make it in time to catch the bus. When we got down, we ran to the bus stop (lugging all our belongings as we went) and somehow managed to jump on the bus in the nick of time.
After several hours of travel by bus, train, and taxi, we arrived in the four story town home we’d spend the next 3 nights in with Brad and his new girlfriend Carmen, who we’d both heard lots about but never met.
Brad and Carmen arrived a few hours after us and we decided shortly after that Carmen is a WINNER!
We ate dinner, played games, and drank until about 2am before throwing in the towel and wishing Como una buona notte .
