7/28/2023: The Vespa

Florence, Italy

What a fun day! This was our day to explore the city on a 6 hour Vespa tour. We arrived at the meeting point when James (the planned DD) realized he didn’t have his drivers license, which was required to drive the Vespa. I hesitantly provided my license when James, sensing disaster, offered to run back to the hotel to grab his license, and then taxi over to wherever the bus was taking us. We were both very much onboard with that plan, as was the tour guide (phew!)

The tour was AWESOME! Such a cool experience. The sites were beautiful and we were able to explore the little back roads and hidden gems of the city with a breeze in our hair and clear skies above.

To keep things interesting, the Vespa behind us ran into a wall while making a turn about half way through the tour. Yikes! Fortunately he and his passenger were okay.. Just a little scraped up and frazzled - rightfully so.

To end the tour, we were treated to Italian food and red wine while overlooking the city (the drivers only got a splash of wine - passengers like me got the rest 😃)

All in all, a pretty awesome day. Shout out to James for navigating that Vespa like a boss and getting us back safely ✌🏼
