Budapest, Hungary

We woke up to find that Budapest is even more beautiful in the daylight. We thought that maybe the darkness the prior night had made the city out to be cleaner and more beautiful than it was, but the daylight only magnified everything we’d loved in the dark.
By late morning, Budapest was already on our list of favorite places. Unfortunately we’d already bought our plane ticket from Budapest to Istanbul, otherwise we would’ve extended our time there immediately.
Knowing the following two days would be jam packed with Sziget festival excitement, we knew we’d have to dedicate the day to crossing off items on our to-do list of responsible adult things (ugh). I had woken up a few days prior without hearing in my left ear which was yet to improve, while J and I were both running low on clean laundry. So a clinic visit and trip to the laundromat were top of our list. After a 10 minute trolley ride (and $70 ticket for not having the right trolley pass), we arrived at a nearby neighborhood with both an open clinic (it was a Sunday) and laundromat within walking distance of each other. Given the wait times for both, we decided to divide and conquer. Almost three hours later, I was given a prescription to clear up what was determined to be an ear infection, and J was folding the newly cleaned laundry. Great timing!
We celebrated our successful day of adulting with dinner, drinks, and a sunset walk before heading home to jam out to our Sziget playlist ✌🏼
