8/23/2023: Vienna Waits for You

Goodbye Istanbul, hello Vienna!

We started our day at 5:45am and were in a taxi on our way to the airport by 6:30am. We decided to splurge on the taxi instead of public transportation as we knew we wouldn't have it in us to navigate public transportation in those wee hours of the morning. Fortunately, we had the hotel book us a reliiable taxi driver (an almost impossible feat in Istanbul) the night before so it was one less thing we had to stress.

After the ~45 minute ride, we cruised through security (a nice change of pace) and made our way to another fancy airport lounge, a free benefit we get through James' fancy Amex platinum card (thank you, Amex). We dined like kings and then settled in to catch up on sleep for the next hour and a half when the plane would begin boarding. After a two and a half hour flight, we touched down in Vienna, cruised through customs, and hopped on the train that would take us to our home for the next four nights.

We arrived at the apartment later that afternoon and were blown away by how cute the space was. Better yet was the bed. Omg. It was like sleeping on a marshmallow!

We wrapped up the night with some Forrest Gump and a few rounds of cards before wishing Vienna a gute nacht.
