8/24/2023: Did Someone Say Tacos?

Despite a 3-hour nap the day prior, we still managed to get in another 11 hours of sleep and woke up pretty out of it. We grabbed breakfast (aka ice cream) at a local restaurant joint and then headed to a nearby grocery store so we could make some meals at home during our time in Vienna (this place had a kitchen! Not to mention our eating out budget was quickly withering away…)

Deprived of the Mexican food that's so easy to find in San Diego, we decided to try our luck in making tacos for dinner. Who would've thought taco ingredients were so hard to come by? We spent hours in two grocery stores trying to come up with basic taco ingredients and still ended up having to substitute out most ingredients. Needless to say, we were both determined to recreate our little slice of home and, despite the end result being a pitiful excuse for the real deal, we had fun making our makeshift tacos and all things considered, they weren't half bad.

One thing we can all agree on? Mexican food will be top of the to-do list when we get home.
