Prague is hands down one of the most beautiful cities we've ever visited. Each city block in Old Town and Lesser Town contains architectural brilliance. It made one feel like all of the buildings were so important!
In one instance there was a modern building that fashioned exterior walls made glass with planters on each level full of bushes and flowers. Copper wires extended down from the planters looking like roots. Then, just a few buildings down there was a palatial limestone structure with large arches, detailed molding, embedded statues, and gold trim. It made me wonder how the city would take form during the cold winter months with all of the snow.
While adventuring one afternoon towards Lesser Town we found an Ice Bar and had to go in. They provided us with an insulated metallic cape and gloves then let us enter the cave for 20 minutes, which was more than plenty. Inside everything was frozen. There was a throne, an iced over piano, and a credenza-sized ice sculpture guitar. They played up-beat pop songs and served drinks in glasses made of solid ice. Everyone who went in at the same time as us danced around to stay warm. When we left we got to shatter our empty drinks in a trash can.
From the ice bar, we walked across the Charles Bridge which was lined with over a dozen beautiful statues. This lead us into Lesser Town where we got to walk around the surprisingly modern yet very large Prague Castle.
More than once we ate at Linh’s Vegan Corner. She was able to make a wide variety of Asian food, from Ramen to Pho, Pad Thai and Penang curry to vegan sushi, vegan burgers and Shumai. Everything was absolutely delicious. Hat’s off to her.
