Munich, Germany
After going back to the Lego store to design and print our much anticipated Lego people, we made our way towards Olympia Park and the BMW museum. Olympia Park was beautiful! Turns out the Super Bloom festival was taking place in the park (we tried to get last-minute tickets while we were there but couldn't justify paying full price to only attend a few hours). Fortunately you could still see and hear many of the festivities from outside the festival grounds, so we found a spot on a nearby hill and enjoyed some people watching until the sun started to set.
Given the fact that it was our last full day in Germany, it seemed important that we prioritize a trip to the beer garden before the day was over. To our good forune, there was one nearby! However, our joy was quickly diminished once we were told that the beer garden had been blocked off to festival go-ers only. Ugh!
So we checked out the BMW Welt nextdoor (the museum had closed already) which was a good time and so impressive. James would probably have more to say about it, but I'll sum it up in one word I’m sure we could both agree upon: awesome.
Despite the late hour (okay it was like 8pm... but late for us), it was our last day to explore Germany and we were committed to having a beer before the day was over. So we hopped on a train and went to another local beer garden where we happily enjoyed our fix of German beer and a warm pretzel.
It’s important to note that I am by no means a beer connoisseur, but if I’m being totally honest.. the beer tasted like your basic bud light. Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that.
Nevertheless, we had a great time and scootered on back to our hotel after an hour or two.
